Circle of Reflections

Glorious sun shining, waves rolling in, sand white and welcoming

Inside a shuffle of chairs circling and connecting

Some retired, some not

All together composing a symphony with gems of wisdoms, reflecting on

         Roads taken, Roads not taken

                    Epiphanies awakening hidden dreams

                               Serendipities changing direction

                                          Risks following passions and adventure

What's important in our lives and what is not

Individual notes keeping voices in rhythm with humor the conductor

          Priest in judge's robes

                    New job opportunity at 65

                              Interior decorator hugging trees

                                        Librarian now jeweler

                                                  Loving Grandparents and caring friends

                                                            Low income housing advocates

Volunteers from all walks of life

Community activists from east to west, north to south

                             Corporate professional now painter

Lawyers, techies, doctors, business owners, others still finding

       fulfillment

All remembering that fateful November that changed us and our country forever

As leaders of the "baby boomers", normal wasn't normal anymore

A generation of pioneers setting new standards and expectations for five decades, now faced with the next phase of our lives and how to live life fully with grace and purpose

All grateful for our years together in a more innocent time, reminiscing on memories that will always be a part of who we are today

Where will we be in the cycle of living the next time we meet?
